Hiihtäen Halki Suomen (HHS) on maailman pisin opastettu hiihtovaellus. Se kestää alku- ja loppumajoituksineen 34 vuorokautta. Matkaa kertyy n. 1800 km. Keskimääräiset päiväetapit ovat n. 55 km, vaihdellen 40-80km välillä.

Vaellus hiihdetään perinteisellä hiihtotavalla pääosin moottorikelkkareiteille tehtyä latua, osin paikkakuntien latuverkostoja tai tätä varten erikseen ajettua latua pitkin. Maisemallisesti reitti kulkee suurimmaksi osaksi rauhallisissa metsämaisemissa, mutta paikoin myös asutuilla seuduilla ja jopa kaupunkien keskustoissakin. Reitti kulkee osin asumattomissa erämaissa Venäjän rajavyöhykkeen tuntumassa. Hiihtäjät ylittävät suuria jäälakeuksia ja aivan pohjoisessa puuttomia tunturiseutuja. Säät vaihtelevat kuukauden aikana lumimyrskyistä häikäisevään auringonpaisteeseen ja kovista pakkasista kevätauringon lämpöön.
Luvassa on siis monipuolisia hiihtopäiviä 😊

KOKO MATKA VAI OSAMATKA

Alustava lähtöpäivä Virolahdelta on su 1.3. (Kokoontuminen 28.2.) ja matka päättyy Norjan puolelle Jäämeren rannalle Nuorgamin lähellä, jonne saavutaan pe 2.4.

Hiihtoon voit osallistua joko suorittamalla kerralla koko matkan tai hiihtämällä osamatkan sinulle sopivalla osuudella.

I osuus: Virolahti – Ilomantsi (9vrk / n. 420km)
II osuus: Ilomantsi – Kuusamo (13vrk / n. 650km)
III osuus: Kuusamo – Jäämeri, (14vrk / 720km)
Koko matka (34vrk / n. 1800km)

PÄIVÄOHJELMA
Hiihtovaelluksen aikana päiväohjelman runko on seuraavanlainen:
klo 7 aamupala
Klo 8 hiihtoon lähtö
Klo 15-17 saapuminen majoitukseen
Klo 18-19 päivällinen ja seuraavan päivän info
Klo 21 iltapala
Lounas tehdään itselle mukaan majoituksen aamupalalta ja nautitaan omaan tahtiin (ryhmissä tai yksin) päivän hiihto-osuuden aikana. Huoltoauto pääsee päivittäin hiihtoreitille 1-2 kertaa useimpien päivien aikana.

MAJOITUS
Hiihtovaelluksen aikana yövymme vaihtelevasti hotelleissa, mökkikylissä ja lattiamajoituksissa.
Patja löytyy järjestäjien taholta, mutta oma makuupussi, lakanat ja tyyny tarvitaan.
Pesumahdollisuus päivittäin ja monissa majapaikoissa on myös saunamahdollisuus.
Voitelupukki on osallistujien käytössä päivittäin.

KENELLE TÄMÄ HIIHTOVAELLUS SOPII?
Kyseessä ei ole kilpailu. Päivien aikana hiihdetään käytännössä pienissä ryhmissä tai voit hiihtää myös aivan yksinään.
Kuntovaatimuksena voidaan pitää, että jaksaa hiihtää pitkiä matkoja useana peräkkäisenä päivänä n. 8-10km/h vauhtia (sää- ja lumiolosuhteet huomioiden). Jos harrastat aktiivisesti liikuntaa ja hiihdät vuodessa min. 300km uskomme että pärjäät kyllä tällä matkalla. Useimpina päivänä on mahdollista hiihtää myös vain osa matkaa. Huoltoauton mukana voi myös kulkea majapaikasta toiseen, jos jonain päivän siltä tuntuu (rajallinen määrä paikkoja).
Huom! Sää- ja lumiolosuhteet voivat vaihdella paljon vaelluksen aikana. Kelkkauria pitkin kulkeva latu-ura ei ole aina samaa tasoa kuin kotikylän pururadalla!  Ja hankikantokeleillä tunne on taivaallinen.

VARUSTEET
Hiihto suoritetaan normaaleilla suksilla (ei eräsuksia tms.). Joinain päivinä pystyy myös jonkin verran luistelemaan, mutta perinteisen suksi on ehdottomasti sopivin. Normaalia isommat sommat sauvoissa ovat hyväksi.
Osallistujille lähetetään tarkempi varustelistaus ennen matkaa.

HHS hiihtovaellus on järjestetty jo 10 kertaa, ensimmäisen kerran vuonna 2003.

Mukaan voimme ottaa max. 30 hlöä per osuus. Koko matkan hiihtävillä on etusija.

VAKUUTUS
Osallistujia EI ole vakuutettu järjestäjien taholta. Jokainen osallistuja on vastuussa omasta vakuutussuojastaan. Suosittelemme hankkimaan kattavan matkavakuutuksen.

HINTA (ja alustavat päivät)
I osuus: Virolahti – Ilomantsi (9vrk): 28.2.-8.3.  hinta 1900-2200€/hlö
II osuus: Ilomantsi – Kuusamo (13vrk): 8.-22.3. hinta 2900-3200€/hlö
III osuus: Kuusamo – Jäämeri, (14vrk): 22.3.-2.4. hinta 3200-3500€/hlö
Koko matkan (34vrk) hinta-arvio on 6900-7300€/hlö
Varausmaksu 100€/hlö.
Hinnat vahvistuvat 30.8. mennessä.
Mikäli ennakkoilmoittautuneita ei ole riittävästi tai hinta poikkeaa em. hintahaarukasta, voi varauksen peruuttaa kuluitta.
Loput maksut 2-3 erässä syksyn ja talven aikana. Tarkempi maksuaikataulu selviää myöhemmin.

Hinta sisältää:
-opastuksen koko matkalle
-majoituksen
– täysihoito ruokailut (ap, itse pakattava lounas, päivällinen ja iltapala)
-huollon matkan aikana
-kelkalla vedetyn latu-uran
-huoltokelkka hiihtäjien perässä
-huoltoauton kuljetukset
-avustaminen suksien voitelussa
-kunniakirjan vähintään yhden viikon hiihtäneille
-muistoesineen vähintään yhden viikon hiihtäneille
-mukavaa, samanhenkistä matkaseuraa 🙂

Lisämaksusta:
kuljetukset lähtö- ja lopetuspaikoille tarvittaessa, esim:
– kuljetus HEL lentoasema -> Virolahti
– kuljetus Joensuu -> Ilomantsi tai v.v.
– kuljetus Kuusamon lentoasemalta/-lle
– kuljetus viimeisestä majapaikasta Ivaloon (lentoasema tai bussiasema)

Matka laskutetaan useammassa maksuportaassa, eräpäivät ao. mukaisesti:
– Varausmaksu ilmoittautumisen yhteydessä (100€/hlö)
– n. 30.8. tai kun min. ilmoittautuja määrä on kasassa, välimaksu I: 1500€/1000€ (koko matka/osamatka)
– 10.1. Välimaksu II: 1700€/800€ (koko/osamatka)
– 5.2.  Loppulasku, kaikki jäljellä olevat maksut

Matkan infokirje, jossa tarkempaa matkainfoa (majapaikat, varustelistaus, saapumisohjeet yms.) lähetetään ilmoittautuneille 2-3kk ennen matkaa.

SKIING ACROSS FINLAND (HHS) 1.3.-2.4.2027 (dates to be confirmed)

A Skiing adventure from Virolahti (South-East Finland along Eastern Finland to the shore of the Arctic Ocean.

Skiing Across Finland (HHS) is the world’s longest guided ski hike. It takes 34 days, including initial and final accommodations. The distance to ski is approximately 1,800 km. The average daily etappes are approximately 55 km, varying between 40-80 km.

The route follows mainly snowmobile tracks where skitracks are groomed just prior skiers. However we utilize also local sktitrack networks where available and certain parts of the route are specially built for our group. The route runs mostly in peaceful forest landscapes, but also in places with more civilzation and  even in city centers. The weather varies during the month from snowstorms to dazzling sunshine and from severe frosts to the warmth of the spring sun. Be prepared for various skiing days 😊.

FULL TOUR OR PARTIAL TOUR

You can participate in skiing either by the entire tour at once, or by skiing a part tour that suits you (and ski next section some other year). See the part tour options in the schedule below.
Those who ski the full tour have priority for places.

The preliminary departure date from Virolahti is Sun 1.3. (Assembly 28.2.) and the tour ends on the Norwegian side at the shore of the Arctic Ocean near Nuorgam, where you will arrive on Fri 2.4.

It is also possible to participate in only part of the tour as follows:

Section I: Virolahti – Ilomantsi (9 days / approx. 420km)
Section II: Ilomantsi – Kuusamo (13 days / approx. 650km)
Section III: Kuusamo – Arctic Ocean, (14 days / 720km)
Full tour (34 days / approx. 1800km)

BASIC DAILY PROGRAM:
7 am breakfast
8 am departure for skiing
3-5 pm arrival at accommodation
6-7 pm dinner and next day’s info
9 pm evening meal

Lunch is prepared by yourself at each daily breakfast and eaten at your own pace (in groups or alone) during the day’s skiing section. Our service vehicle can access the ski route 1-2 times daily (some exceptions).

ACCOMMODATION:
During the skitour, we will stay in hotels, apartments, cabins and old shcools. In some places you sleep on the floor. The organizers provide a mattress, but you need to bring your own other bedding (sleeping bag, sheets, pillow).
There is shower available every day and many accommodations also have a sauna.
It is possible to make laundry ca. twice a week (extra fee might occur).
A waxing booth is available for participants to use daily.

WHO IS THIS SKI HIKE SUITABLE FOR?

This is not a race. During the days, you will ski in small groups or you can also ski alone, if you prefer.

The fitness requirement is that you can ski long distances for several consecutive days at a speed of approx. 8-10 km/h (taking into account weather and snow conditions). If you are an active sportsperson and ski at least 300 km per year, we believe that you will be able to do this trip.
On most days, it is also possible to ski only part of the daily section. You can also travel from one accommodation to another with the service vehicle if you feel like it some day (limited number of places).

Note! Weather and snow conditions can vary a lot during the tour. The track along the snowmobile tracks is not always the same level as the one  you might have used to ski at local ski resort!

EQUIPMENT

Skiing is done with normal skis cross-country skis, traditional style. On some days you can also ski free style (skating with skis), but traditional skis are most suitable. Larger baskets in poles are recommended.
Participants will be sent a more detailed equipment list before the trip.

The HHS ski tour has been organized 10 times already.

We can take a max. 30 people per section. Priority is given to those who ski the tull tour.

INSURANCE

Participants are NOT insured by the organizers. Each participant is responsible for their own insurance coverage. We recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.

Section I: Virolahti – Ilomantsi (9 days): 28.2.-8.3. price 2000-2200€/person
Section II: Ilomantsi – Kuusamo (13 days): 8.-22.3. price 3000-3200€/person
Section III: Kuusamo – Arctic Ocean, (14 days): 22.3.-2.4. price 3400-3600€/person
Full tour: (34 days) is 7200-7500€/person

Booking fee 100€/person.

Prices will be confirmed by 30.8. If there are not enough pre-registered people or the price deviates from the above price range, the reservation can be canceled free of charge.

The remaining payments will be made in three installments during the autumn and winter. See payment schedule below.

Price includes:
– guidance for the entire trip
– accommodation
– full board with meals (breakfast, packet lunch, dinner and evening snack)
– Service during the trip
– groomed tracks (sledge drawn my snomobile)
– Safety snomobile following the skiers every day (some exceptions)
– Luggage transfers to next accommodation by service van
– ski waxing support
– diploma
– souvenir of the tour
– nice, like-minded fellow skiers 😊

For an additional fee:
– transportation to the start and end points if necessary, e.g.:
* transportation HEL airport -> Virolahti
* transportation Joensuu -> Ilomantsi or v.v.
*transportation from/to Kuusamo airport
*transportation from the last accommodation to Ivalo (airport or bus)

The tour will be invoiced in four installments with due dates as follows:
– Booking fee upon registration (100€/person)
– approx. 30.8. when the min. number of registered persons is reached, interim payment I: 1500€/1000€ (whole tour/part tour)
– 10.1. Interim payment II: 1700€/800€ (whole tour/part tour)
– 5.2. Final invoice, all remaining payments

A tour information letter with more detailed travel information (accommodations, equipment list, arrival instructions, etc.) will be sent to those registered 2-3 months before the trip.
